A 12-person architecture firm was running on consumer Wi-Fi, personal Dropbox accounts, and a PC that took 15 minutes to boot. Nobody could find files; a ransomware scare nearly ended the company.
π οΈ What we did
Phase 1 (weekend): new business-grade firewall + Wi-Fi 6 access points, segmented guest network. Phase 2: Microsoft 365 migration with shared structure, replacing scattered personal accounts. Phase 3: replaced the worst PCs, standardized on one laptop model, set up automatic cloud backup with 30-day versioning.
β The outcome
File-finding time dropped from ~20 minutes to seconds. Boot times: 15 minutes to 12 seconds. The owner slept through the next ransomware wave β every machine patched, backed up, and isolated. Monthly IT cost now: less than their old coffee budget.
